Musical Reviews

Musically this week my third eye has been opened, and I’ve gotten some great tunes from,

PJ Morton’s new single, “Only One” is just soulful beyond belief and truly shows his musicianship to the fullest.  His vocals have grown as well since I was turned onto him from the beginning of his career.  His choice of musically direction has stayed the same, but you can hear the growth.  He was blessed with Stevie Wonder on this single playing is signature harmonica, which took it to a whole other level.  Congrats to you PJ, for a great beginning to a promising year on Young Money.  Enjoy the ride!  Click here to listen >>

Nate James from the UK has a single, “Where My River Will Flow” which just takes you back to a simpler time in R&B.  This is a stripped down musical arrangement, that takes on a trip mind, body and soul.  Click here to listen >>

Justin Timberlake’s new offering is so complex and many ways, and of course he has Timbo at the helm of the ship.  Of course, he brings beats like a layered that you listen to each song more than once and you hear different things each time.  This isn’t  has futuristic as his last offering, but he’s for sure on a different realm with “The 20/20 Experience”.  On “That Girl” he brings a 60s soul flavor to the track, combined with Timberland’s unique sound.  He gets his “Frank Ocean” on with the “Blue Ocean Floor” track.  “Pusher Love Girl” is classic JT on some R&B straight up!  In a nutshell, the JT and Timbo collabo has brought another piece of heaven to my ears!  Click here to listen >>
