MOCAtv presents

MOCAtv presents “The Art of Punk: Black Flag”

I love art and I have mad respect for Black Flag as a band and the fact that they had no restraints on what they put out as musical art.  Like so many artists today have the major labels dictating and directing their careers, and it’s almost a “crime” to go against the machine.  Even if it’s to your own benefit in the long run and profitable for them, they still will never admit they were wrong (i.e Rhianna…).  Black Flag took you on a mental and spiritual journey, and made you look at yourself in the mirror an examine yourself as a whole.  Sometimes you came up with answers and sometimes you had to continue on your quest.

This documentary takes you inside the band like you’ve never seen before, and introduces you to the mind behind the art work Raymond Pettibon.  Explains how their signature logo was born and the significance of the movement as a whole.

I am interested in delving deep into what makes a band in all aspects of the creation, and this doesn’t disappoint.
